Finally got around to updating this triple-disc set from 8 years back, incorporating the new SMiLE Sessions mixes/remasters/edits for what I think are better results. I'm not going to wax rhapsodic about the incredibly talented Wilson brothers (Brian, Dennis and Carl, in order of both age and talent, IMHO) and their oft-underrated output (and yes, I say "underrated"--even things like Pet Sounds and SMiLE--because I'm always amazed at how many people still think of the Boys in their candy-striped shirts and neat, early-'60s Princetons), because others have done it more convincingly. I will say that they are my fourth-favorite band of all-time (after the Beatles, Stones and Kinks). Superior collection that sparks many golden oldie memories... great work.
I've posted before about how I was late coming to the Beach Boys. It's easy to see them as that California car-and-surfing band if you just hear the big hits. But there was so much more as you demonstrate. Very nice.
